Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall Spreading the Dharma in Silence Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia 54 Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall is the spiritual home of the Tzu Chi community and volunteers throughout the world. It serves as a sanctuary for spiritual cultivation and shoulders the noble mission to purify the human mind. It is also a centre to record and preserve Tzu Chi’s history for the future generations. Master ChengYen said: “The objective of constructing the Jing Si Hall is to establish a spiritual fortress to propagate Buddha’s teachings. Hopefully the designs of the Hall will be able to spread the Dharma, so that the moment we enter this Hall, we can truly see and feel for ourselves the Buddha’s teachings and Tzu Chi’s culture.” The first Jing Si Hall was built in Hualien, Taiwan, followed by many others in different parts of Taiwan, as well as globally. In Malaysia, the first Jing Si Hall was set up in Melaka in May 1997. Later, Penang and Kedah also saw the completion of their respective Jing Si Halls. In 2014, KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall, the largest in Malaysia, which comprises Sutra Lecture Hall, administrative office, Da Ai Kindergarten, Jing- Si Books & Café, Tzu Chi Continuing Education Centre and other facilities, was completed.
