  • Eid al-Fitr is an important festival for the Muslims, signifying the end of the fasting month of Ramadhan. Tzu Chi KL & Selangor held its inaugural Eid al-Fitr distribution event at KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall to celebrate this joyous occasion with the Muslim care recipients.

  • She had to navigate the crowded bus, pushing the stroller with essential supplies and an oxygen cylinder while comforting her crying child, who felt uncomfortable due to the stuffiness and forcefully tilted his head backward, leaving her arm bruised and in pain. Only she knew the true extent of the hardship she endured in her efforts to save on transportation costs.

  • Material wealth alone cannot bring true fulfilment, only a positive mindset creates greater happiness and abundance. The Entrepreneurs’ Exchange and Learning Camp organised by Tzu Chi KL & Selangor enabled the busy entrepreneurs to settle their minds, embrace the present moment, reconnect with themselves and rethink their purpose in life.

  • He joined Tzu Chi in 1993, and in 2001, he decided to cease his business and donate his factory to Tzu Chi for the construction of the Malacca Jing Si Hall. His graceful exit from the business world reflects his attitude towards money. After retiring, he did not indulge in travelling or leisurely pursuits with his savings. Instead, he opted to utilise his funds for various international disaster relief efforts or public speaking engagements, reflecting the essence behind the topic of his speech that, “Knowing How to Earn Is a Novice, Knowing How to Spend Is a Master.”

  • On February 6, 2023, a devastating earthquake hit the southern region of Türkiye, close to the Syrian border, resulting in significant loss of life and extensive damage to buildings. Tzu Chi KL & Selangor responded quickly by launching a fundraising campaign to support the relief efforts. The volunteers went to various locations such as markets, shopping malls, schools, parks, recycling points, apartments, and even outside mosques to collect donations and gather support for the earthquake victims.

  • Four years into its operation, Tzu Chi International School Kuala Lumpur (TCISKL) was finally able to hold its inaugural formal Year-end Blessing Ceremony on February 14, 2023. Students from preschool, primary, and secondary levels participated in their designated sessions of the ceremony via livestreaming in their respective classrooms and the auditorium, accompanied by their teachers, Great Love Mothers, and volunteers from the Tzu-Cheng and Yi-Te Association.

  • No one would have thought that Stephanie Chew, who always appears eloquent, steady, calm, confident, and cheerful on stage, once fell into the whirlpool of depression, having suicidal thoughts.

  • Tzu Chi KL & Selangor held its Year-end Blessing Ceremonies on January 8 and February 12, 2023, to express gratitude to members of the public for their support towards Tzu Chi’s missions and welcome volunteers home for a reunion while receiving blessings from Master Cheng Yen.

  • After three consecutive months of book study, sutra singing, and sign language practices and rehearsals, Lim Hon Seng and his daughter, En Ning, successfully made it for the performance of The Wondrous Lotus Sutra Musical Adaptation. It is rewarding that the daughter has also laid to rest the ghost of cyberbullying, while the father has learned to tame his temper.

  • A group of environmentally-conscious youth has gathered 33 vendors selling plant-based food and eco-friendly products, bringing an amazing green experience to over 2,000 members of the public.

  • Despite feeling exhausted from daily chores and taking care of her bedridden mother and seven children, Sitrah believes that education is key to helping her children distinguish right from wrong and break free from poverty.
  • Teacher Chor Zheng Hao has only met his student Rakin online. Despite this, he has successfully guided the boy academically and boosted his confidence to interact with others.

  • On the morning of August 20, 2022, Tzu Chi volunteers from the English Group visited Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur. This initiative was presented as an opportunity after several representatives had also visited Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall in Kepong a month earlier.

  • Faced with the demise of four family members in a short span of three years, Cheah Hong Ying was once overwhelmed with pain and grief. Fortunately, her guardian angels appeared in time, accompanying her on the uphill journey to reconnect with life after suffering loss. She said, “If it was not for Tzu Chi people, I do not know what would have become of me!”

  • Master Cheng Yen once said, “If everyone harbours a kind heart and abides in the true Dharma every day, then every day is an auspicious day.”

  • “I am grateful that because of the Dharma I did not wreck my marriage. I am also grateful that the Dharma has guided me to be a good wife and mother.” – Siow Kim Yen

  • In May 2021, as the pandemic raged, Tzu Chi launched the Malaysia Solidarity Covid-19 Fund* to help raise funds for medical equipment in various hospitals. Caritas Malaysia participated and raised RM 1 million for the purchase of medical equipment, hence making initial contact with Tzu Chi. During their national meeting, the Catholic Church invited bishops, nuns and committee members from other states on a field trip to visit KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall and Jinjang Recycling Centre on July 30, 2022.

  • After two pandemic years, Tzu Chi International School Kuala Lumpur (TCISKL) was finally able to organize its first sports day. The event, participated by 1,700 students and school staff, was held over three days from July 22, 2022, for kindergarten, primary and secondary students respectively.

  • Once again, Tzu Chi KL & Selangor will bring us another musical adaptation in appreciation of the spirit of the Lotus Sutra, following the last “Dharma as Water” musical performance in 2015.
